ABBlighting is proud to offer new web-based tools to help you with your lighting applications.
ABBlighting Indoor offers quick ways to get interior lighting estimates and ABBlighting Outdoor generates
simple templates and point-by-point lighting calculations. Now you can run continuous comparisons of
different fixtures without the need for expensive photometry software.

How Does It work?
When the ABBlighting Indoor Tool opens, click on the
desired input tab to open that section. Typically for
first time visits, go through the input sections top to
bottom. Once familiar with the tool operation, you
can skip many of the input items and get results in
seconds. The tool will compute instantly when it has
enough input.

Select a photometric file from
the pull-down menu. The file
name begins with the FG#.
The tool is designed to present
only the photometric files that
are relevant to the browser’s
location on the ABBlighting
website.
 
 
Choose your room size.
The graphic model will
highlight as you mouse over
different areas to help you
differentiate dimensions.
 
 
 
 
Reflectances are expressed
in percent. The Coefficient of
Utilization (CU) and effective
cavity reflectances are
computed and then displayed.
 
 
 
Set the target Illuminance lev-
el based on either the number
of luminaires or footcandle
value/level needed. Use the
radio buttons to further
constrain your calculation.
 
 
 
 
Determine the luminaire
positioning by defining the
number of Rows & Columns,
Wall Spacing, Ceiling Grid
Spacing or Continuous Rows
or Columns.
 
 
 
Prorates calculations based
on Lamp Lumens and Lumi-
naire Wattage. The symbol
appearance can also be
modified in this panel.
 
 
 
 
 
Set the preferred units.
 
 
 
 
Print your layout!
Click the Print Preview button
to indicate “Project Title”,
“Description”, “For” and “By”.

By clicking the Add
button in the lower right
corner of the calculation
area you can add a new
luminaire arrangement
to the plot area. Move
any location by simply
clicking and dragging.
 
Hover over a location to
display the Edit/Delete
functions.
 
You have complete
control over luminaire
aiming and
positioning through
the Edit screen. Easy
to click and drag any
graphic or use the
menus.

To use as a template generator
(one pole arrangement), set the
Arrangement from the pull-down
menu & leave the Layout and
Spacing section blank.
To use as a layout tool, select
the Arrangement for the majority
of your locations from the menu.
 
 
 
 
Complete control over the
illuminance contour values (Iso-
lines) is available from this sec-
tion. All cells with checkmarks
are included; set the values as
needed. Click in the color cell to
change the color if desired.
 
 
 
This section controls the
appearance of the graphics area
as well as how fast the tool
computes and the number of
point by point values visible.
 
 
 
 
 
 
The statistics are normally
computed on the area covered
by the plot, which is controlled
by the zoom level. If you want
more specific statistics, set the
coordinates of the statistical
area here. Switch the statistical
display on and off and select it’s
contents from the Summary
section.
